When it comes to having a successful brand or business, people must be able to focus on several different areas at once. This doesn’t necessarily mean that people have to do everything themselves but it does mean that they will at least have to outsource certain things to ensure that all bases are covered. When people do this, they are giving themselves the best chance of long-term success.

What people will often do, however, is focus all of their efforts in one area and will wonder why they aren’t reaping all of the benefits that they had hoped for. One example of this is when people think they are doing the right thing by investing in search engine optimisation (SEO) techniques. This means that they will be increasing their website’s visibility to the right people and will be attracting more visitors to their site. The only problem is that once people reach their site, they don’t really know what to do from there and so here is why businesses need to focus on conversion rate optimisation (CRO) as well as SEO.

Businesses need to focus on CRO as well as SEO so that they can ensure that they are keeping people on their website for longer

While it is a lengthy task in itself trying to get people to notice a site the next natural step is to convince people to stay on a site. This means that everything needs to be working properly and needs to be catching a user’s eye so that they know where to click next. For instance, when people are directed to a home page, it may be best for them to then go and explore the blog on this site, to fill out a questionnaire, or to sign up to a newsletter.

Others may want people to head to their store straight away and so it may be best to have clear positive reviews shown so that they are more likely to make a purchase. Whatever the tactic used may be, the longer that someone stays on a website, the higher the chance is that they will be converted to a customer, subscriber, or client and so this is a form of CRO.

Businesses need to focus on CRO as well as SEO so that they can ensure that they are actually making money

In addition to ensuring that people are staying on a website for as long as possible, businesses also need to make sure that they are actually making money from the people who are visiting their site.  As previously mentioned, this means that when people are visiting and then exploring the site, they will be more likely to turn into paying customers or clients. Or, they will be willing to speak about the site with other people who will then go on to be paying customers or clients.

This is why it is so important that people focus on CRO as well as SEO so that they can ensure that they are making this happen. One example of this is by having some kind of incentive for people if they sign up to someone’s newsletter such as a free audio or discount code. Others may want to look into click funnels such as an auto webinar funnel which will see users obtaining access to a free webinar. Whatever it is that people decide to do, the best move is to take an approach that covers all areas and doesn’t put all the eggs in one basket.
